Specific Areas of Expertise

App Server internalsExperience in implementing and supporting the Pramati application server product. Includes individuals that were involved from the first version of the J2EE application Server released in 2000.
Design and ArchitectureBuilding on the Application Server product development, MW engineers possess strong systems development experience. Design best practices and approaches are well understood. And often shared with the fraternity in Hyderabad via Design workshops.
Performance engineeringPramati Server has maintained performance and management as a key differentiator in the application server marketplace. Pramati has been active in the Application Server benchmark standards such as Ecperf and SPECjAppServer benchmarks. This combination of performance characterization and performance optimizations has held fast in helping ISVs and clients in optimizing their solution performance.
Scalability and SizingPramatięs systems engineering/support team (now part of MWorks) has had extensive experience analyzing performance of the ISVs production deployments. In many cases the engineers have also taken up specific sizing exercises for clientęs applications. With deep understanding of the workload characterizations, sizing approaches and load generator tools and utilities including WAST, Grinder, and Load runner.
Porting and clusterabilityPramati systems engineering/support team has worked with ISVs since 2000. Most engagements start with a porting exercise from Weblogic, Websphere, Oracle, and SunOne on Pramati Server. This is followed by a performance and clusterability analysis of the applicationsę design and implementation. This is further supplemented by experience in building the transparent multi server deployment and migration built into the Pramati studio and deploy tool.
J2EE FrameworksThe team has extensive experience designing and implementing solutions built on J2EE frameworks such as Struts, Spring, and Hibernate. The team has a comprehensive understanding of various frameworks in the areas of MVC, OR-mapping, and other utilities such as data caching. Additionally, there is also experience in building homegrown frameworks used in building the Web-based management solution for the Pramati Server.
J2EE Application DesignThe engineers deeply involved with the J2EE technology, bring a unique perspective to application design. Duly complimented by a strong insight into application frameworks such as Struts.
Systems EngineeringExperiences gained from designing and implementing parts of the Pramati Server is the foundation for systems design. With this foundation, MW engineers now engage in building custom infrastructure solutions. Recent cases included building an offline version along with extensive data-sync capabilities, custom security infrastructure, etc.
